Water Bore Drilling

Well researched water bore drilling can be the difference

In a dry climate like Western Australia’s, accessing groundwater can be a game-changer. Bores allow you to tap into underground water reservoirs, which can then be used for irrigation, livestock, and other industrial or commercial purposes. It’s a sustainable option for those who want to reduce their reliance on mains water supplies or simply need more water than the local mains can provide.

The key to a successful bore is proper drilling. This is not a guessing game project - picking the right location and depth is essential to ensuring a steady and reliable flow of water.

At BD Water, we bring expertise, specialised equipment, and a solid understanding of local hydrogeological conditions to every drilling project. We make sure that your bore is drilled in the ideal spot and to the correct depth to ensure long-term success.

How we simplify bore drilling.

A bore can provide a sustainable and reliable water source, however, getting a new bore constructed is not the easiest task. Drilling a bore might seem like a huge undertaking, but with the right team, it’s a breeze.

At BD Water, we make the drilling process smooth and straightforward, with minimal fuss and maximum results.

Pre-drilling assessments

We start with a desktop assessment including lithology maps and bores drilled nearby. We do a detailed site inspection to check the property conditions, elevation and soil materials. We advise the chances of finding water and recommend you the best bore location and depth based the water table depth, property lithology, any existing infrastructure, and other factors.

The actual drilling happens

Once the ideal drilling location is determined, we bring in our state-of-the-art drilling rigs. These machines are designed to handle the unique conditions found in WA, allowing us to drill efficiently while minimising (though never removing completely) disruption to your property. We drill to the necessary depth, and construct the bore using quality materials.

We have a bore, now what?

After a bore is drilled, it is ready to be equipped with a pump. We don't formalise pump quotes prior to the bore construction, to ensure we accurately size the pump to the bore production and irrigation requirements. Once a bore is drilled, we size and quote the pump and follow on irrigation works. Our integrated approach enables us to work seamlessly from bore to irrigation and any necessary licensing work.

And the moment we hit water!

One of the most exciting moments in well boring is when we hit water. But it’s not just about finding water - it’s about making sure that the water well can supply enough water to meet your needs. At BD Water, we’re experts at optimising bore construction design, for example using multiple screens, to get the ideal yield for your irrigation needs.

Once drilling is complete, we perform tests to measure the flow rate and the amount of water the water well can supply. These tests help us determine whether the well boring will meet your requirements for irrigation or other water use. If the yield is lower than expected, we can offer solutions, generally such as additional development or using tanks to maximise water flow.

Longevity

While Drilling Companies Perth are the first step in creating a functional bore, it’s important to remember that proper maintenance is key to ensuring it continues to work effectively. At BD Water, we provide ongoing support to help you maintain your bore, including advice on keeping the water clean and ensuring that the pump system works efficiently.

Compliance

We ensure that all our bores comply with any DWER regulations and licensing requirements, making the process as seamless as possible for you. Our team handles the paperwork, ensuring you’re set up with a legal and fully operational bore from day one.

Reliability

For properties in Western Australia, where dry spells and water restrictions are common, having a bore means peace of mind. Whether you’re watering crops, maintaining livestock, or keeping a lush garden for private or public use, a bore gives you the flexibility and reliability that no other water source can provide. By working with a trusted Well Contractor and Water Well Companies, you can ensure your bore remains a dependable water source for years to come.
